Attended Phillies games

This is a list of all the Phillies games I have went to.  I don’t have any memory attending any Phillie game before the first one listed.  Games with an asterisk * denote missing the first pitch.

1. June 14, 2002* at Mets (Phils lose 4-2) As mentioned on this page, I had no idea what was going on as I was listening to the Yankees-Indians game on my walkman.  But I included this game since this was the earliest instance I remember seeing the Phillies. (0-1)

2. August 3, 2003 vs Padres (Phils lose 5-2 in 10 innings) Only time I have been to Veterans Stadium and I thought it was better than Shea despite its reputation of it being a dump. Believe it or not, Oliver Perez only allowed 2 runs on 5 hits and struck out 13 (0-2)

3. June 15, 2004 vs Tigers (Phils lose 10-3) This was my first time at the Bank. Brian Powell allowed 4 runs in the first 2 innings pitched. (0-3)

4. August 20, 2005 vs Pirates (Phils win 6-1) First game I went to that the Phillies won. (1-3)

5. April 27, 2006* vs Rockies (Phils lose 6-3) 2006 was the first year I subscribed to MLB Gameday Audio and also the first season I went to more than one Phillie game. Phils blew a 3-3 tie when Ryan Franklin allowed a 2 run home run to Garrett Atkins. (1-4)

6. May 25, 2006 at Mets (Phils win 5-3) First time I saw Ryan Howard hit a home run. (2-4)

7. June 13, 2006 vs Mets (Phils lose 9-7) This one featured the most home runs by both teams in a game I have attended.  The Phillies hit 5 (Jimmy Rollins 2 [one was a leadoff], Bobby Abreu, Aaron Rowand, and David Dellucci), and the Mets hit 3 (Carlos Beltran, Carlos Delgado, David Wright). Only time I saw the Mets at home. (2-5)

8. July 26, 2006 vs D-Backs (Phils win 6-4) That day was Ryan Howard bobblehead day. (3-5)

9. August 4, 2006 at Mets (Phils win 5-3) Ryan Howard was 3-5 with a RBI double and a home run for insurance in the 9th inning. (4-5)

10. August 28, 2006* at Mets (Phils lose 8-3) Jamie Moyer had a rough 3rd inning when he allowed 6 runs on 6 hits and one of them was a infield single to the catcher.  Carlos Ruiz also made an error in that 3rd inning.  At least I saw Ryan Howard hit another home run at Shea. (4-6)

11. April 28, 2007 vs Marlins (Phils lose 11-5) Adam Eaton allowed 7 runs in 4 1/3 innings. (4-7)

12. May 17, 2007 vs Brewers (Phils lose 3-2) Cole Hamels was originally supposed to start, but got pushed back a day since John Lieber cut his finger. Garcia kept the Brewers in check, but so did Sheets. Pat Burrell came so close to tying the game in the 9th but it resulted in a double, but was stranded at second. (4-8)

13. June 5, 2007 at Mets (Phils win 4-2 in 11 innings) Game was tied at 2 from the top of the 3rd inning until Chase Utley hit a home run in the 11th to break the tie. (5-8)

14. June 7, 2007 at Mets (Phils win 6-3 in 10 innings) First time I have seen Cole Hamels pitch. He allowed 3 straight home runs– including a disputed one by David Wright. Pat Burrell hit the game tying home run off Billy Wagner in the 9th to tie it at 3. This would be my last road win for a long, long time! (6-8)

15. June 28, 2007 vs Reds (Phils win 8-7 in 10 innings) Chase Utley almost had a 3- home run game, but flew out the third time. Only time I saw a Phillies walk off win walk off win for the Phillies when Jimmy Rollins got the walk off single. (7-8)

16. July 29, 2007 vs Pirates (Phils win 5-1) First time that year a Phillie has not hit a home run in a game I went to. Only home Sunday home game I have went to up until this point. (8-8)

17. August 10, 2007 vs Braves (Phils win 5-4) Chuck James and Cole Hamels both allowed 4 runs in the 1st inning, but they both cooled down. PH Greg Dobbs hit the tiebreaking single in the 7th inning. (9-8: first time over the .500 mark!)

18. September 12, 2007* vs Rockies (Phils lost 12-0) I missed the Phillies turn a triple play in the 1st inning and it went downhill from there. Kendrick allowed his only hit to Matt Holliday (before the Phils-Cards series in 2010) which was a 3rd inning 3 run home run. Kendrick left the game in the 4th due to a come-backer and the Phillies pen allowed 6 runs in the 4th inning. This also snaps my 5 game winning streak. (9-9)

19. September 26, 2007 vs Braves (Phils won 5-2) Phils move closer to clinching the NL East as the Mets also lost to the Nats which would lead to the epic Mets collaspe. (10-9)

20. April 2, 2008 vs Nats (Phils lost 1-0) Both pitchers were sharp, but the only run was a solo home run by Ryan Zimmerman off Hamels. (10-10)

21. April 9, 2008 at Mets (Phils lost 8-2) This was a very sloppy game as Kyle Kendrick only lasted 2 1/3 innings and allowed 7 runs on 4 hits and walked 6. The defense was also awful as they committed 4 errors– 3 in the 3rd inning when the Mets scored 6 runs. Of the 7 runs Kendrick allowed, only 1 was earned!  This is the 3rd straight year I have seen the Phillies allow 6 runs in 1 inning. (10-11)

22. April 10, 2008 at Mets (Phils lost 4-3 in 12 innings) Eaton pitched better than the year before, but Phils lost in extras on Angel Pagan’s walk off single. The Phils came from a 3-0 deficit to tie it at 3 in the 8th inning. (10-12)

23. April 17, 2008 vs Astros (Phils won 10-2) On this lovely mid April day, the Phillies played a lovely game. This was the first time I saw Ryan Howard hit a home run at home. It was also the first time I have seen the Phillies win in April. (11-12)

24. April 27, 2008 at Pirates (Phils lost 5-1) Shame I went to this game since the Phillies won the other 2 games in this series. Maholm pitched a 2 hit complete game. (11-13)

25. May 15, 2008 vs Braves (Phils won 5-0) First of 2 shutouts I have seen Hamels pitch. (12-13)

26. May 27, 2008 vs Rockies (Phillies won 7-4) Phillies score all 7 runs in the first 2 innings. (13-13)

27. June 5, 2008 vs Reds (Phils won 5-0) Second shutout by Cole Hamels and the fastest Phillie game I have ever been to (2:06). Ken Griffey, Jr. came close to hitting #600, but flew out to Shane Victorino. (14-13)

28. July 10, 2008 vs Cardinals (Phillies won 4-1) First time I have seen Ryan Howard have a multi-home run game. Also is the last time I have seen the Phillies win at home in a long, long time. (15-13)

29. July 24, 2008 at Mets* (Phils lost 3-1) Just like the last game I went to at the Vet, Oliver Perez pitched like Tom Seaver as he struck out 12 Phillies. This was my last time ever at Shea. (15-14)

30. August 21, 2008 vs Nats (Phils lost 4-3) Once again, Tim Redding pitched lights out against the Phillies, and Jamie Moyer was great but the Phils could not get any runs. (15-15)

31. April 23, 2009 vs Brewers (Phils lost 6-1) Hamels was pitching great through the first 3 1/3 innings while striking out 6. He left the game due when a comebacker by Prince Fielder hit him. Bush in the meantime was pitching a no hitter throught 7 1/3 innings until Matt Stairs broke it up with a home run. (15-16)

32. May 7, 2009 at Mets (Phils lost 7-5). For the first time I have been to Citi Field, Jamie Moyer got roughed up as he allowed 7 runs in 2 1/3 innings and allowed 3 home runs. (15-17)

33. May 22, 2009 at Yankees (Phils won 7-3) Brett Myers and the Phillies end my road losing streak as Myers only allowed 3 runs and the Phillies hit 4 home runs including a leadoff one by Jimmy Rollins on the first pitch. This was my first and only road interleague game for me so far. (16-17)

34. June 18, 2009 vs Blue Jays* (Phils lost 8-7) First time I have ever seen Blanton start… both teams combined for 7 home runs (4 for the Phillies and 3 from the Jays) and 14 different pitchers were used (8 for the Jays and 6 for the Phillies) in this see-saw game which took 3:48 (longest 9 inning game I have attended) (16-18)

35. July 22, 2009 vs Cubs (Phils lost 10-5). Moyer pitched a excellent first 3 innings, but ran into trouble in the 4th when the first 5 Cubs reached including a 3 run double. This game ended the Phillies 10 game win streak and was the first time since July 11 that they trailed in a game. (16-19)

36. August 21, 2009 at Mets (Phils lost 4-2). Hamels allowed 4 runs on 10 hits in 5 innings. All 4 runs came in the 2nd and 3rd innings. (16-20)

37. April 1, 2011 vs Astros (Phils win 5-4). Roy Halladay pitched well, allowing only 1 run in 6 innings, but ex-Phillie Brett Myers allowed no runs in the first 6 innings and only 2 hits.  The Phillies cut a 4-0 lead in half in the 7th, and would go on to score 3 runs in the 9th to win the game.  This is the only second walk off win I have went to, and the first ever Opening Day. (17-20)

38. May 27, 2011 at Mets (Phils won 6-4).  This game featured several lead changes with the Phillies jumping out to a 2-0 lead, but then the Mets scored a run in the 5th-7th innings to lead it 3-2.  However, the Phillies scored 1 in the 8th to retie it at 3 and scored 3 in the 9th off K-Rod.  Second last at bat victory of 2011 and the first win at an NL venue since June 7, 2007.  Fun fact: after the Phillies played a day game against the Reds in 2009 and this year, the Phillies went to New York and I attended both games.  Also, my ticket was on someone else! (18-20)

39. June 8, 2011 vs Dodgers (Phils win 2-0). Dodger killer Cole Hamels was facing Phillie killer Hiroki Kuroda in a pitchers duel.  Hamels pitched 8 shutout innings and Ryan Howard hit a solo home run.  (19-20)

40. July 16, 2011 at Mets * (Phils lose 11-2).  Cole Hamels got roughed up again in the Big Apple allowing 5 runs in 4 1/3 innings while Jonathon Niese kept the Phillies in check.  (19-21)

41. July 27, 2011 vs Giants (Phils lose 2-1).  Hamels pitched better than the last time I saw him in New York, but Matt Cain stifled the Phillies offense.  This is the first time I have ever seen the Giants face the Phillies and the third time I have seen a playoff matchup rematch.  I have seen the Phillies face every NL team now.  (19-22)

I did not attend a game in 2010 due to my awful 1-5 2009 season (odd how my only W in that year was against the eventual World Champions!)

*The Phillies are 0-7 when I miss the first pitch.  4 were against the Mets (all day games) 2 against the Rockies and believe it or not, one was against the Blue Jays!

I have only seen the Phillies win 1 day road game (May 25, 2006)

Also the Phillies were 5-1 when I saw Brett Myers start a game.  He also started in the first ever win I went to!

The Phillies are 2-7 when I see them in April. Of course, Brett Myers started both games!
